PEDDIE LAKE SWIMS - 1st Update - 7/3/2009 - We're a go!!!

July 03, 2009 By Darek
We're a go! Water quality tests came back well under the NJ standards, see note from the people who tested: The bacteria monitoring results: good news-levels are safe! The highest amount of e. coli we found was 133 colonies per 100 mL of water. According to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, it is safe to swim as long as levels are less than 235 colonies per 100 mL. If you'd like more details we will have them at the lake tonight!! We went out and put the bouys anchors in today and the water is cool but not cold, if you tend to get cold, bring a wet suit!! See you tonight, rules attached!!    Open DOC file ( 34.30KB) . . .

JAM Update

October 05, 2008
JAM wrapped up the triathlon season with a very successful race in Hightstown. Darek was the race chair, and JAM sponsored the swim. Ann organized lifeguards, Marian helped keep track of swimmers entering and leaving the water, and Andy suited up in his neoprene finest to help swimmers exit safely. Among the competitors, Christine was first out of the water in her heat, as usual, and won her age group, placing fourth overall. Vanja had a great race but did some extra distance on the bike, whereas Scott DQed by missing some miles (split the difference??). Dave Goldberg and Bill Hurlin both placed second in their respective age groups, and Dave won a super aero bike helmet in the raffle. Read more...
